Physical Characteristics
The California buttercup is a yellow flower that has 5 or more petals. It has yellow pollen. They have leaves that grow in groups of three and its stem is green.

Habitat
The California buttercup grows in wet pastures and meadows. They also grow in grassy lands and hills. They grow in February through April.
Edibility
Buttercups are poisonous to humans but when it is dried other animals can eat it
Medicinal Uses
The California buttercup is not used for medicine.
Other Uses
Natives would boil the seeds as popcorn
Beggars would rub the juice from the buttercup over their skin to raise blisters hoping their sight would get more coins from passersby.
